OOC | [Permissions]

So being a war god, Homura is something of a powerhouse, as is detailed in his application. And he is not afraid to use violence, up to and including lethal force. Endless joy, right? So, just in case, I'd appreciate it if anyone interested would fill out the form below. Alternatively, feel free to contact me via aim or email, or a comment here!

Also, as a note, Homura almost always gives warning before physically attacking anyone, and definitely before killing them. So if nothing else, you'll have an ic warning. And of course, nothing major will be done without permission.

[Luceti is in the midst of an experiment, and Homura knows the announcement may well go unacknowledged for some time. Still, the people Okita knew and cared for deserve to be told, even if the Malnosso do prevent them from understanding the truth immediately. So he lets out a slow breath, and speaks in an even tone that he doubts either Hijikata or Ayumu could manage.]

For those that knew him, Okita Souji has died.

[The handwriting is careful and neat, as the author takes care to make it unremarkable. Likewise, the camera is blocked, so no pictures show up with the entry or its replies.]

And once again, we find ourselves recovering from an experiment--one made in error, or so we have been told. Yet it is hardly the first time memories have been altered, or individuals found their very perceptions of reality changed. Regardless of the intent, there should be little doubt that this will not be last time the captives of Luceti will be subjected to such treatment.

Do you wish it to cease? Those of you who were sent home perhaps received a reminder of where you truly belong. Or did you instead better understand just what the cost of such a return would be? Few could vanish from this place without notice or regard by at least a single person. True enough, a genuine return ensures the loss of memory, and thus avoidance of pain by those who are no longer bound here. But you know, now, what pain your departure would cause. What, and whom you would lose by leaving the beautiful cage.

Would you even go, if given the opportunity? Not merely for a day, and with no one beside you from this world, but to truly return. Would you fight for the chance to leave behind the chains anymore? Or would you instead fight to remain a prisoner within this brand of paradise?

[Once he had moved in, Homura asked Ayumu if she wished his assistance with certain chores; it hardly seemed fair to stay there without making such an offer. And the woman had agreed--provided she could supervise. Ayumu had her own particular way of doing things, as Homura discovered through her intense courses on both laundry and dishwashing. She was ultimately as devoted to doing her housework as skillfully and precisely as she threw knives on the battlefield.

There was a certain task that Ayumu wasn't so inclined to direct, however. No, with Okita's most recent disappearance, the daily care of his assortment of pets fell squarely on the demi-god's shoulders. None of the required duties were too hard to fulfill, but it did put a particular question in mind. So after he spends a fair time of the morning cleaning out cages, filling food dishes, and walking a giant chicken around the block, Homura addresses the journal.]

What exactly prompts mortals to take on animals as pets?

[But that's not the only thing Homura has on his mind, and moments later he adds a second question--this time filtered away from Ayumu]

I understand that acknowledging the anniversaries of certain events is important; even in the Heavens, certain birthdays were celebrated on a vast scale. [Pointlessly, given that the gods are immortal.]

How much time should pass between each celebration, from a mortal perspective? Given the limited history of Luceti itself, is a year too long? Or would it be more appreciated if the span were drawn out?

010 | [Action] To Take Place Throughout the Experiment

[Leo:
• A large windfall is coming to you. Only it's meteorological and not financial.
• You're not the only one who thinks you're inadequate.
• Venus is making itself felt in your pants today.
• Name your sexual organs after old time TV characters.

Odd predictions and commands, none of which Homura understands the origins of, particularly when he's not the "Leo" that they're apparently meant for. So he closes the book in favor of ignoring them. Simple enough.]

[Day One - 25th]

[Except not, when the wind starts. It takes a fairly strong gust to knock over a demi-god, but this one just might. The wind blows completely at random, regardless of whether Homura is indoors or not. An experiment, clearly, but at least it's only an annoying one.]

[Day Two - 26th]

[Funny thing about being felled by wind on a regular basis. It makes a man begin to question his own attributes. The doubt starts off slowly, just a single stray thought that's easily dismissed--but only at first. As the day goes on, and the wind continues to topple him on occasion, Homura begins to question certain vital characteristics about himself. That typical confidence is slipping, and others likely notice it too. At least, Homura convinces himself of that by the afternoon.]

[Day Three - 27th]

[Full of self-doubt and with a head of hair that may never recover, Homura still never the less ventures from his apartment. He will prove his adequacy to the world, one way or the other. It doesn't help, however, that seeing random people awakens certain...urges, with the full effects quite visible in a tenting over his groin. If he knew of horoscopes and ruling planets, Homura would realize that those born under Venus were causing this, regardless of their appearance. And while normally he has much better control of himself, Homura can do nothing but deal with the problem. After all, running off would only prove to everyone that he has no self-control, no strength to deal with awkward circumstances.]

[Day Four - 28th]

[By the fourth day, the problems are all well settled in, leaving Homura no choice but to wait out the effects. Today, however, will find him occasionally muttering to some strange, unseen person. Does anyone know a "Hawkeye" or a "Fonz"? No? Well, the lack of presence doesn't keep Homura from addressing whoever it is, by varying names. Funny how it usually coincides with those Venus sightings.]

[ooc: any time, anywhere, and over the journal is fine too. Just let me know when so I know which effects are in play. :)]

In House 50, Ayumu's Room )

[Later in the night, Homura makes the trek across the village to his own apartment. He's better now, though blood still dries on his clothes as he moves. It's a long trip to the highest floor of Community Housing 3, and the silence that meets him on his return is hardly as welcoming as most might expect. Instead of his own room, his own bed, Homura first heads across the hall to the bedroom once occupied by a fellow demi-god. He finds it empty, however, stripped of possessions and personalization that had once marked Nataku's presence. Despite the fatigue, Homura opens his journal then; better to make the announcement right away. There is no telling how long it's already been delayed.]

To those that might have known him, Toushin Nataku Taishi has been sent home.

[ooc: Late night overdue return from mallynap! Homura will be patched up by Ayumu before he heads for his own house, but he's otherwise free over the journal or in person to anyone interested who would be up that late.]

008 | [action]

[Homura had never heard of the particular occassion being celebrated in the village that day, but he could still take advantage of it. The last time he went to such a festival had been under the false pretenses of the Malnosso's chosen life for himself and Ayumu. This time would be by his own volition, and hopefully hers as well. Not that he knew if such festivals held her interest, but certainly it couldn't hurt to ask.

Instead of utilizing the journal, however, or even his own power which could take him straight into her room, Homura opts to simply walk the distance between the third housing building and House 50, then to knock on the door. Of course, it could cause an interesting predicament if Ayumu had yet to inform her housemates of their newly cemented relationship--this largely serving as the basis for making that particular choice. No doubt Ayumu will pay him back in one way or another, but Homura grins as he knocks on the door anyway. What fun would it be without a few intentional twists?]

[ooc: largely for House 50 residents (and any from House 40 who want to be over), but feel free to catch him on the way? I'm good with anything! Backdated to much earlier in the evening, before Shinpachi's mallynap return.]

010 | [Voice/Action] Backdated to Sunday

To those in residence with Okita Souji:

He was involved in the battles yesterday with the woman who attacked the village. He was injured, but not killed. He simply wishes to remain in the clinic for the time being, because of his wounds. I'm passing along this message so you won't worry--or so Okita hopes.

Homura

[Homura shuts off the voice function, then turns to the subject of his entry. He's sitting on an empty bed next to the other man's in the battledome hospital, having taken Okita there after his own encounter with the Godslayer.]

Is that satisfactory?

What would you be willing to give for a second chance?

[Take the question as you will, Luceti. Homura's purposely vague, wanting not only to see what answers he receives, but how people interpret the question itself. After he poses the question, he'll be making a trip out to House 50--unannounced, of course. Ayumu has yet to contact him after the experiment, so Homura will take it upon himself to go see her. Better that than leaving the issue unresolved.]

[Afterward, he'll head to the Battle Dome to practice. It's been some time since the last draft, and he refuses to let his swordsmanship suffer during the lull. So he'll be going at it while completely limited, fighting the targets offered by the program. Unlike others he's seen, Homura moves with cool efficiency, and aims to kill with almost every blow.]

008 | [Action]

[Moving all of their things from the top floor of the third community building has taken a couple of days, if only because Homura doesn't want Nataku or Okita to miss out on the festival preparations because of a random shift. Finally though, they've made it down to the last couple of trips, and Homura only has to go back and forth between there and House 50 a few times that morning.

Good thing, too. Shouryuu and Rokuta need extra help this week, getting food orders and such ready for the festival activities. So the afternoon will largely be spent with his adopted parents, doing manual labor, before heading back to the village and home. Home clearly being the best part, although none of it is actually bad. It's nice being content with life in general.]

[Largely for family, but feel free to run into Homura wherever if you'd like? :)]

Addressed to House 31 )

[That done, Homura adjusts the filter to address the population at large.]

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the technology that powers the battledome. Is there a way to completely limit ones own powers while fighting within it? And if not at present, would anyone be capable of making it so?

005 | [Action/Video]

[Although Homura had been feeling normal and very much himself when he left community housing building three at night, somewhere along the way came a decisive change. So instead of the masculine demi-god that normally wandered, there stood an innocent-appearing girl with a wide-eyed expression that, frankly, Homura would never have. But Rinrei had always differed from him, even on such a basic level.

Not that Homura's aware of just who he's turned into at first. It starts off simply enough--opening the journal to issue a comment of warning.]

It seems we're about to undergo another experiment.

[Yet five hundred years hadn't dulled his memory of her voice, or her face, when he finally finds a window to peer into. Suddenly, what might have been an amusing play with his gender is much less entertaining.]

...An unpleasant one.

[Suddenly, crowds! And without wings, at that. Homura can at least say the Malnosso keep things interesting. For his part, he'll wander around the village, seeing just who has shown up. And no, he doesn't care that it's the middle of the night.]

So in the end, this life is painfully similar to the last. How unfortunate.

To those who approached the boy in chains during the prior "event," as it's called:

You have my thanks.

[That afternoon, Homura will be headed to Slash and Crash to see about finding his sword, or possibly commissioning a new one. Even if he hasn't been drafted, given the events going on now, it seems wrong for a god of war to remain unarmed. Outside of that, he'll largely be wandering about, observing the village as the people prepare for the draft.]

[Those wandering in the village might happen across yet another child in clothes that seem far too big for him, with shaggy hair and dirty skin, and chains around his wrists. He seems less concerned about his restraints, however, despite the cold. Instead he stares upward, squinting into a sky so bright it hurts his eyes to look at.]

Did...did I die?

[His voice is soft, and after he speaks, he seems almost surprised at the way his own words sound. Unaware of the nearby book broadcasting his image, the boy clutches his cloak tighter around him, familiar with that piece of cloth at least.]

[Homura is examining the journal when he presses the button to begin recording. He doesn't notice the change at first, as he's more interested in the device itself, so there are a few moments of quiet contemplation before he speaks softly, mostly to himself.]

Well. This isn't quite what I was expecting to happen when I died.
