[The handwriting is careful and neat, as the author takes care to make it unremarkable. Likewise, the camera is blocked, so no pictures show up with the entry or its replies.]

And once again, we find ourselves recovering from an experiment--one made in error, or so we have been told. Yet it is hardly the first time memories have been altered, or individuals found their very perceptions of reality changed. Regardless of the intent, there should be little doubt that this will not be last time the captives of Luceti will be subjected to such treatment.

Do you wish it to cease? Those of you who were sent home perhaps received a reminder of where you truly belong. Or did you instead better understand just what the cost of such a return would be? Few could vanish from this place without notice or regard by at least a single person. True enough, a genuine return ensures the loss of memory, and thus avoidance of pain by those who are no longer bound here. But you know, now, what pain your departure would cause. What, and whom you would lose by leaving the beautiful cage.

Would you even go, if given the opportunity? Not merely for a day, and with no one beside you from this world, but to truly return. Would you fight for the chance to leave behind the chains anymore? Or would you instead fight to remain a prisoner within this brand of paradise?

[And this author does the same thing. Disguised handwriting and covered the camera as well.]

It feels like a waste to remain here knowing that when we go back it will have all been for nothing. I know what my departure would cause because I have left and returned and it is in many ways far worse to have done so because I no longer have that tiny thread of hope that perhaps this would mean something.

It is what makes me want to go back sooner rather than later.

[ A magenta-haired girl is sitting at a desk, though with the book on her lap it might just make it look like a strange angle, since she's leaning back (rather dangerously) in the chair, tapping her fingers on the side of the journal, so it's pretty easy to hear them. ]

There are a lot of reasons to fight to get back, even though I know a lot of people would rather stay here because they don't have anything to go back to. I'd rather bust out and I fully intend on it, with anyone who wants to try with me no matter how bleak it seems.

[ Yuri frowns for a moment. That's a difficult question. ]

Obviously, I don't want anyone to die, but I'm not going to let someone stop me. As long as we don't kill anyone, it's fine.

hohenheim: (And we both end up with scars)

[ Hohenheim's handwriting must seem a tad familiar to Homura by now. Despite the length of time it has been since the alchemist last wrote anything, Hohenheim is perhaps one of the few people in Luceti to possess such oddly neat script. Sometimes it can be rather difficult to make out what he's writing because of the arch of his "R" or the curves he does to his "L", but overall it's still legible. ]

Any normal person who lacks any ties to this realm would easily state that they would desire to be returned home. However, I'm afraid...I'm not one of those people.

As ridiculous as it may sound, the only reason I desire to stay here is for the chance to see my wife again.

You see, my wife died years ago when I was away on business. So imagine my shock to see Trisha alive and well for the first time in the last several years. Reason enough for a widower such as myself to want to stay in this world, isn't it?

Maybe it's silly, but as much as I miss home, I wouldn't want to go back unless everyone was returning as well. Maybe I want to see things through to the end?

There are experiments, dangerous people, and so many other things here. Wouldn't it be better to go home? But I want to stay anyways. That's what I mean.

I am aware of that, yes. I hope there's something that can be done for them as well.

Why fight for either? In particular, to remain here. There is no reason to fight when this is simply current fate. I doubt there is a way to decide for yourself whether to stay or go, but if there were, I'll stay.

Don't misunderstand, I don't believe in such a thing, it's just a convenient word.

My preference is that I am one who has nothing to return to, only death. If I knew I could be with a certain person otherwise, I would wish to return immediately and would give anything for it, but the likelihood of that? dismal. Here there are a few others at least, and continued life.

Paradise.

A curious choice of word for a place in which we are held against our will and subjected to other indignities while expected to be complacent and agreeable.

If that is what they equate to a supposed realm of eternal bliss...

[A pause in his writing.]

Of course, think not that I believe such a place truly exists. I have seen many waste their lives kneeling until their knees bruise, praying to be lead to paradise by a God who takes particular pleasure in playing deaf.
