I'd spoken with Rokuta about bringing a friend over after the last experiment ended. If you're free this evening, would you mind company?

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the technology that powers the battledome. Is there a way to completely limit ones own powers while fighting within it? And if not at present, would anyone be capable of making it so?

If you aren't too busy plotting your revenge, however, we can put some of the mystery to rest.

[And shortly after, Homura will be leading Nataku to Rokuta and Shouryuu's. Does an emporer answer his own door when someone knocks, or does he make the kirin do it?]

[Make? Nobody makes Rokuta do anything. Especially not Shouryuu.

No, really.

But he'll just be answering the door pretty quickly, since he was even more intrigued by what he'd heard of Homura's friend. And it's still kind of nice to be back to normal and able to do such simple things as opening doors.]

[Nataku has fallen into step behind Homura, but once they get to the door it's a struggle to keep his curiosity in check. It's still strange to think that he doesn't have to. He remains still as the door opens, but his eyes light up immideately at the sight of the other boy. He moves past Homura's arm and nods in greeting, but remains a polite distance away.]

Homura. [He cuts in, shrugging a shoulder to indicate his fellow Taishi.] He wouldn't tell me anything about you so I brought someone you already like.

[Homura laughs, both at the greeting and Nataku's reply. Of course not telling either much about the other has been a great source of amusement, but he's willing to prolong the torture for only so long. Homura tosses a bag to Rokuta.]

It's a food called candy, in case you don't have it in your world. And as you've likely reasoned, this is Nataku. Is Shouryuu here as well?

[Rokuta glances at Nataku and grins, obviously amused by the response.]

Good choice, then.

[His expression brightens as he catches the bag of candy and peers at it curiously for a moment, but he's quick to return his attention to the guests. He steps back, pulling the door open wider so they can enter.]

Thanks! He's around here somewhere, I'm sure.

[He pokes his head out of the kitchen with a half grin.]

[Nataku glances at the candy, but doesn't comment on it yet. He's more interested in the other boy. Despite everything Goku's said, he hasn't really tried to make any friends yet. He grins back, partly relieved that he at least has a sense of humor.

He follows Homura inside, wondering just how many of his friends they would be meeting today. Shouryuu gets a slightly different response. Nataku's gaze isn't unfriendly, but it shifts between him and the Kirin before settling on the latter.] Do you belong to him?

If you're truly concerned that he doesn't know your exact location at all times, I'm sure Rokuta could find a leash for you. [Homura heads in with the others, grinning when Shouryuu makes his comment.] He might find it reassuring as well, for when you misbehave.

[Homura immediately picks up on the subtle coolness in Nataku's behavior, and understands fully the reasons. Still, it's hard not to laugh as he imagines Rokuta's answer, though Homura does somehow manage it.]

[Rokuta just rolls his eyes at Shouryuu's comment and just closes the door behind the pair. Homura's response, however, evokes a quiet snicker, and he moves back to join the others with a very amused smirk.]

No, probably not, 'cause then I'd have to stay close enough to hang on to the other end of the leash.

[He sets the candy down on the table and starts to hop up beside it, but pauses when Nataku speaks, the corner of his mouth twitching with the derisive laugh he's holding in for the sake of politeness to the person he'd just met.]

Belong? To him? Not likely.

[Shouryuu doesn't take offense at the question though some people might. He can guess the reasoning behind it; something about the way the boy holds himself tells him - like Homura - this one isn't quite all that meets the eyes. Years of experience and life are enough to tell him that much.

At Enki's words, however, Shouryuu's interrupted from his little musing and he snorts out a laugh.]

Oh please, like it'd be that bad. [He turns his eyes over to Nataku though, and he just shakes his head, thumbing in Enki's direction.] Like anyone would want to own that.

Nah, I'm just stuck with him.

[Everyone seems unconcerned so Nataku shrugs, humor lighting his features again, and turns to smile at Shouryuu. He doesn't quite understand the relationship but it seems to work for them.] So it's the other way around. Sorry, I didn't realize. [This time he's only joking. Shouryuu's easy confidence is... different. It even seems genuine.]

[He doesn't move from Homura's side, partially out of deference to their hosts and partially out of habit.] Like Homura said, I'm Nataku. It's good to meet you both.

True. It seems there are always unfortunate consequences.

[As predicted, the situation between the other three sorts itself out quickly enough. Nataku is observant enough to pick up on Shouryuu's and Rokuta's characteristics, a habit of serving as Toushin Taishi. Still, he can tell that both Nataku and Rokuta are holding themselves in check, and Homura's interested in seeing just how long that will last--not very, being his guess.]

Shouryuu and Rokuta have been together for five centuries. Quite a long time to be stuck, but they get along well. [Homura grins, glancing down at Nataku.] It turns out that not all Heavens are the same as ours.

[Rokuta makes a noise somewhere between a snort and a snicker as he settles himself on the table with one leg folded beneath him. Okay, maybe Homura was right about the two of them getting along.]

Nice to meet you, too. As you've probably guessed, I'm Rokuta.

[Some of his amusement fades, though, when Homura mentions the Heavens of his world. Rokuta hasn't liked anything he's heard about that so far.]

Probably a good thing, too.

[He looks curiously between the three of them, unsure exactly of what was being talked about. He hasn't heard anything about their Heavens, but it seems to be a sensitive topic. One that Rokuta doesn't like, which probably implies a lot of violence, coupled with Nataku's reaction to him... he hasn't been a king for five hundred years and managed to stay alive, keep peace etc. because he can't put two and two together.

Hm. Interesting.]

And I'm Shouryuu, which you've probably already gathered as well.

[Though Nataku himself is immortal, he's still young and he's never expected to live a long life, so five centuries seems like a long time to be with someone. And furthermore, they chose it. Homura makes very interesting friends.

He nods at both in turn as they introduce themselves, and tilts his head up to look when he's addressed. Considering everything that's happened since his arrival, he's willing to take this at face value.]

It would be depressing if they were. [He says it lightly, but the sentiment is genuine.] There aren't enough boring hypocrites around to populate them another Heaven like ours, anyway.

[But he is curious. He's never imagined a heaven other than the one he belongs to.]
