He was involved in the battles yesterday with the woman who attacked the village. He was injured, but not killed. He simply wishes to remain in the clinic for the time being, because of his wounds. I'm passing along this message so you won't worry--or so Okita hopes.

[Homura shuts off the voice function, then turns to the subject of his entry. He's sitting on an empty bed next to the other man's in the battledome hospital, having taken Okita there after his own encounter with the Godslayer.]

And she was going to help me scare Nagakura-san out of his room, but Ayumu-san stopped us.

Yes, I'm sure there are better ways of getting Nagakura-kun out of his room.

There were, but this would have been the most effective.

It's not my fault she wants to come inside. The poor thing has to be outdoors all the time. It's no wonder she gets lonely.

And not that I've seen. She found us - or more accurately, found Yamazaki-san's head and preened it to make herself feel better. Apparently her former owner lived where we do now and she feels at home there.

Hm...I know he wasn't very happy about Yamazaki-kun giving the book back in the end, but I guess overall it could have. It certainly was amusing, even if it was at Hijikata-kun's expense.

--oh, Yamazaki-kun was here before? [beat] I guess his hair would look like a...bird's.

[He laughs, then ends up coughing for a bit.] Hijikata-san needs to lighten up anyway.

[Give him a moment to catch his breath.]

He was, a long time ago. Hijikata-san has been here once before, too... And Tetsu-kun. A very long time ago. [Too long. He wonders if he'll see them again before--] It does look like a bird, doesn't it! [He laughs again.] At least Tammy thought so.

I don't know how many times I've--[Sannan breaks off as he hears Okita coughing.] Okita-kun, are you alright? We've been talking for a while; perhaps you should take a break and rest...

Ah...no, I'm alright. Sorry, I swallowed a bug. It was...gross.

That clinic doesn't sound very clean to me.
