To those in residence with Okita Souji:

He was involved in the battles yesterday with the woman who attacked the village. He was injured, but not killed. He simply wishes to remain in the clinic for the time being, because of his wounds. I'm passing along this message so you won't worry--or so Okita hopes.

Homura

[Homura shuts off the voice function, then turns to the subject of his entry. He's sitting on an empty bed next to the other man's in the battledome hospital, having taken Okita there after his own encounter with the Godslayer.]

Is that satisfactory?

I don't think I'm the only one she's upset with, Homura-san.

[He sits up a bit more in bed and smiles up at Ayumu.]

I can report any injuries if you would like, but the healing power here should have them done away with quickly.

[Yes, that whole fancy healing thing that she still doesn't entirely trust. Not entirely reassuring.]

Ah. Of course. It's so simple to just wander off and get oneself seriously injured, then ask for someone to heal you. I can't imagine why everyone wouldn't wish to do it.

Perhaps so, but that was directed at you.

[Homura didn't consider himself seriously injured, after all. He'd been through much worse through the course of countless wars. Still, he did look over at Ayumu.]

He did have his reasons, even if his actions were foolish.

[Oh, Homura do not go telling the reasons. Okita wants to keep that quiet as much as possible. Private battles aren't allowed, especially like this.

Giving Ayumu a sheepish smile in order to deflect any oncoming questions, he continues.]

Whatever the reason, I probably shouldn't have gone.

[He sighs and tries to settle back, making a face when his wings touch the pillows.]

I just hope they let me out soon.

[Ayumu's gaze shifts briefly to Homura when he speaks, but soon returns to Okita again as her frown deepens. He had his reasons. But he isn't going to volunteer those reasons. Naturally.]

I have to admit it might be better if you were where I could keep an eye on you.

[Homura glances over at Okita, but keeps his silence. It's up to the other man to explain his actions, and Homura refuses to get in the middle of it.]

He will step in, however, when the conversation turns to Okita's release. Homura has been sitting with Okita for a bit, and has a better idea of the man's condition--including his cough.]

They would probably let you have a bed here, if you wanted. I understand your concern, but it's better that Okita not sneak out any earlier than necessary.

[With a sigh, Okita leans back, pointedly ignoring what Homura says. That touches upon a subject that isn't to be spoken about.]

I should be able to return within the week. If not before that.

[Ayumu quirks one brow slightly as she compares Homura's and Okita's statements. Okita never has been willing to admit when he's ill or needs to rest; she's reminded of when he slipped out of the house the previous winter, for instance.]

Mm. If you're ready to move. Until then I suppose I'll have to just visit often.

[Homura hasn't given Ayumu any specifics, but he shares her concern for the other man. From her words, Ayumu makes it clear that she's gotten Homura's message, which is fortunate.]

Perhaps she can sneak in those candies you care for so much to make your stay more tolerable.

That would make it a bit easier to stay in here, but I don't think it will be necessary. The injuries should heal quickly, so long as there are no complications.
